Jim studied Theatre Design and Illustration. Using papier-mache and mixed media, Jim’s work explores folklore and legend – both local and European.
Jim’s sources for inspiration vary, but stories, pictures, films and children’s television of Jim’s 1970s Cotswold childhood greatly influence his work.
Using materials sourced within a mile or two from his home in Gloucestershire, Jim creates three-dimensional illustrative pieces.
As an artisan, Jim gets a thrill out of creating something magical, and perhaps sacred, out of materials that can be found in skips and bins up and down the country.
